Before you appoint a marine surveyor
What information is needed for a Cyprus marine survey quote?
Provide the exact Republic of Cyprus marina, port or yard, vessel details, material, purpose and date. Include access contact, lift, wash, sea trial and any insurer, lender, registry or authority requirement.
Can a surveyor attend any Cypriot port or marina?
Not automatically. Controlled ports and yards may require identification, permission, a local host or contractor approval. Confirm access and vessel presentation before fixing attendance.
Can high temperatures affect the inspection?
Heat and strong sun can affect working hours, surface temperatures and some moisture readings. The surveyor should choose suitable conditions and record material limitations.
Is a private survey valid for registration or statutory work?
Not necessarily. A buyer’s or insurer’s survey is separate from registry, tonnage, class or statutory work. Confirm the accepting authority, required format and surveyor appointment before instruction.
Are haul-out and specialist tests included?
Only if included in the written scope. Lift, wash, relaunch, travel, sea trial, rig inspection, engine diagnostics, ultrasound and moisture testing may be separate.

The client appoints the independent surveyor and agrees scope, fee, limitations and terms directly. Cyprus Marine Survey provides information and introductions only.
